Why Lucky Dog? The most recent addition to our pet family is where the name came from. We found him walking down the road in 2006. He was tiny and when we stopped and got out of the car he came right to us. He was so dirty but still so cute. We tried to find his home but no one claimed him. We took him to the vet and he was only 4-5 weeks old. Not old enough to be away from his mother. He had worms, ticks, mange, etc. You name it, he had it. We nursed him back to health and often remarked what a lucky dog he was. Really, we are the lucky ones. He is a joy to have in our family and our other pets seem to agree.

So when I was trying to think of business names I kept coming back to Lucky Dog. I thought, everybody knows how lucky they are to have a pet in their life and how lucky the pet is to have them. Therefore, LUCKY DOG!

About the Owner and

Co-Owner

I’ve always had a pet as a member of the family. I grew up in the country, so we had several dogs, cats, rabbits and even a pet chicken named Duke. I had hamsters, gerbils and fish in the house. When I was old enough to be out on my own, cats were the easiest thing for me to care for being in an apartment. For much of my adult life, I’ve helped family and friends care of their pets while they needed to be away. It was a natural fit. I found I loved being around their animals as much as my own. In 2002, my husband and I got our first dog together. In 2004 we bought our first home and moved to Lenoir City, TN. We both worked full time jobs but our family is in Georgia so we had a need for a pet sitter. Only we couldn’t find one in Lenoir City. That was when I started to dream of being a pet sitter. One day my dream came true and I’m happy to be able to apply this quote to my life - “Do something you love and you will never work a day in your life.”
I’m also pleased to say that my husband, Rob, is the co-owner and comes on some of my pet sits to enjoy your pets as I do. I am thankful that he is supportive in so many ways. I feel as if I am the Lucky Dog.
